Bord Na Móna Supporting HUB360's response to climate action and sustainability using smart technology

HUB360 are delighted to be selected as part of the Bord Na Móna Accelerate Green Programme which aligns so closely with HUB360's own values: to respond to climate action and sustainability using smart technology.

The HUB360 Platform is designed to address supply chain inefficiencies through digitalisation as well as the opportunity to positively impact the reduction of GHG created by Heavy Duty Vehicles. Heavy Duty vehicles are responsible for about a quarter of CO2 emissions from road transport in the EU and for 6% of total EU transport emissions. Unfortunately, these vehicles service the majority of the logistics sector to keep supply chains moving and efficient across the EU and the globe.

The logistics business sector is one of the biggest sectors in Europe. It generates more than EUR 900 billion in revenue annually, represents just under 7% of total GDP and employs more than 7 million people. This sector is ripe for disruption as it has traditionally been relying on labour-intensive processes with a heavy focus on manual paper-based transactions and storage methods aswell as weak data analysis. This results in inefficiencies across all stages of the supply chain including the management of fuel consumption. It is also a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). Transport alone is currently responsible for around a quarter of total GHG, with road transport representing 17.8% of total transport emissions. Heavy duty vehicles are responsible for about a quarter of CO2 emissions from road transport in the EU and for 6% of total EU transport emissions. Of these, large lorries account for 65% to 70% of all CO2 emissions from heavy-duty vehicles .

Accelerate Green is the leading accelerator programme in Ireland dedicated to scaling companies leading the response to climate action and sustainability, by developing products and services based on green innovation.
